FRED RICHARDSON

PRESIDENT, LEED GA - CUTTING EDGE FLOORING

During an installation career spanning over 3 decades, Fred has garnered certifications in almost every aspect of commercial and residential flooring from most major manufacturers and has performed technical troubleshooting and training for several of them. After becoming a certified Red Seal Journeyman floor covering installer, he went on to incorporate Cutting Edge Flooring Ltd. in 1993 as a flooring installation company specializing in commercial and high-end residential installations. In 2005 he was asked to take over the Alberta Apprenticeship Program for Floor Covering at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology and taught the course for 4 years. He currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Alberta Floor Covering Association and has served as Presiding Officer for the Provincial Apprenticeship Committee. He has also served on National Committees developing the exams and criteria for the national Red Seal program in Floor Covering. In 2012, he joined forces with Chris Sokalski to open the sales division of the company. In 2017 he was elected to the Board of Directors of the Fuse Commercial Flooring Alliance as the only Canadian board member, and in 2017 he was appointed Vice President of the Fuse board.
